Sabine Schiffer

Professor at the Frankfurt campus of the Hochschule für Medien, Kommunikation und Wirtschaft. Head of the Media Responsibility Institute (IMV) in Berlin. Her research focuses on discrimination in news media and on the impact of media on attitudes and values, especially on children’s values. Modern forms of propaganda is one of her most important subjects, in which the 'Enemy' (Feindbild) Islam is playing an important role today. With a PhD degree in linguistics, publications include a book on the 'Coverage of Islam in German Press' (2005), a comparative analysis of anti-Jewish and anti-Islamic hate speech (2009, with Constantin Wagner, IMV) and one on 'Media and Education' with approved information for teachers (2013).
