Mission and Objectives

LiteSide festival - Oriental Underground in Europe has the goal of sending out a positive message into the world showing the beauty and capacity for innovation of European artists using the culture from Islamic countries combined with the Western. A variety of artists and performers show 'cutting edge' work where West meets East. These artists have been chosen because their work reflects their 'origins' in an Islamic culture combined with the Western cultures that they live in creating a new urban’ expression that we all relate to. We use the word 'oriental' instead of 'Muslim' to underline that we are referring to art forms and culture and not religion.

Main Projects / Activities

LiteSide organizes a 4 day festival in Amsterdam mixing theater, dance, music, performance and visual art. Workshops and discussions are also part of the program. We mix local heroes with new comers, and non-Muslim with Muslim artists with in our program. We present new work, innovation, cross over. We also mix Club culture, eating and dancing with performance and exhibitions, multi disciplinary. Looking to the future! At this moment the artists presented are from European countries including Turkey. At a later stage we want to invite artists from around the other side of the Mediterranean. We commission new works to showcase young talent. We support emerging artists in their development. We want to provide a meeting point for artists with this cultural background from all over the region for exchange, feedback and support and eventually to create a touring circuit. Co-operations with other countries are welcome.

General Information
The Lutfia Rabbani Foundation was established by Mahmoud Salim Rabbani (1934-2002) in the Netherlands in 1979. The foundation is a private, non-profit organization which seeks to promote Euro-Arab dialogue through education, dialogue and cultural exchange. The Foundation gets its funding from an endowment, grants and donations from private individuals. To check the annual budget of the Foundation please check out our website here (http://www.rabbanifoundation.org/anbi-rabbani/). The foundation has a director, secretary, and a board consisting of 7 members. Our modalities of action include scholarships, conference, and dialogue platforms, and cooperation with other organizations. Examples of our cooperation are Virtual Dinner Guest Project, Nour Project, AEUA, Capacity Building for Small/Medium Enterprises (SME), Palestinian Student Study Week – Edward Said Memorial Conference, International Criminal Court Trial Competition.
Mission and Objectives

The core mission of the Lutfia Rabbani Foundation is to develop a dialogue platform between Europe and the Arab World. The Foundation implements this mission through three channels: • Scholarships: designed to enhance the post-graduate educational experience and promote intercultural cooperation by offering students from Europe and the Arab world the means to study or research in each other’s respective countries. The foundation provides several scholarships: MSR scholarships for Master and PHD students, Travel scholarships to promote mutual understanding between the Netherlands and Arab world, and the Vreede scholarship for the summer program at the Hague Institute on international law. • Dialogue platform: through the biennale Euro-Arab dialogue Forum, the annual MSR lecture series and two Roundtable Dialogue workshops each year, the Foundation seeks to create a dynamic platform for mutual understanding, discussion and networking between both parts of the world. • Cooperation: through its cultural and educational projects the foundation aims to enhance mutual exchange, understanding and collaborations between Europe and the Arab world.

Main Projects / Activities

The Foundation implements a variety of programs and activities designed to benefit students and professionals in both regions, and seeks to promote education in the broadest sense of the term. In addition to providing scholarships (http://www.rabbanifoundation.org/scholarships/msr-scholarships/) to Arab and European students to study in each other’s’ respective regions, the Foundation organizes and hosts the Euro-Arab Dialogue Forum (http://www.rabbanifoundation.org/dialogue-platform/), develops education projects (http://www.rabbanifoundation.org/cooperation-2/) and participates in numerous other initiatives in the field of Euro-Arab cooperation to promote Euro-Arab dialogue and understanding.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We promote Euro-Arab dialogue, linking people together through education and cooperation and offering a dialogue platform for both regions to discuss, debate, network and collaborate. For the past 35 years, the Lutfia Rabbani Foundation has been a bridge between Europe and the Arab world, underlining the importance of a strong, interactive and mutually beneficial relationship between both parts of the world. In the words of the founder Mahmoud S. Rabbani: “Arabs and Europeans still have much to learn from each other. Once they have come to a genuine understanding they will find that there is room in their mutual relationship for a much stronger and broader cooperation.”

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We would like to build partnerships with other organizations and organize activities focused on Euro-Arab dialogue.

It takes YOU & ME to ACT!
That's MasterPeace!

Our MODEL
The MasterPeace network is run by local well-established NGOs/Social Enterprises in 40+ countries (of which many in the Euro-Mediterreanean region), who are licensed to operate as a ‘MasterPeace Club’ in their locality. They are
facilitated by a highly motivated core team based in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

We offer a unique platform to a large community of changemakers, social entrepreneurs, volunteers, bloggers, journalists, musicians, entrepreneurs and active citizens to connect and support each other with taking action.
We monitor and evaluate the projects of our MasterPeace Clubs yearly.

OUR STRUCTURE
The model of MasterPeace is an ‘upside-down pyramid’. Our MasterPeace Clubs are independent and in the lead, facilitated globally and regionally by a core team alongside a wide pool of talent-bankers, board members and experts.
MasterPeace Clubs are set up on the values of positivity and impartiality. Being a part of the grassroots movement mobilizes them to run at least 4 projects per year with true local impact. In this way, the movement can be seen as an inspirational knowledge network of passionate changemakers who constantly motivate each other and co-create for local social impact.

OUR WORK
We focus on specific SDG's ; SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 5 – Gender Equality, SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

At the core team of MasterPeace we work with a staff of 10 paid- people and ca 70 volunteers who support us on project bases.

Since our 10 years of experience, we have met many true young leaders who have incredible passion and drive towards building peace in their communities. Together, we have
realized more than 1000 projects worldwide with real, deep-rooted social impact. We invite you to have a brief look at https://masterpeace.org/stories/
In MasterPeace, we believe in ‘values’ and in ‘creating value’. That’s why MasterPeace is funded by value-driven partners such as companies and family funds. Together, we create
campaigns, concepts and funding that enables all the licensed NGO's to grow their local action and make their impact truly sustainable.

Mission and Objectives

Our MISSION
Mobilize, inspire and connect talents for a sustainable future with less conflict.

Our VISION
- We believe that the world has 7 billion talents rather than 7 billion issues; Therefore, we use the SOFT POWER of music, art, sports and play to mobilize and inspire young people.
- We believe that there is more that we have in common than what separates us; Therefore, we organize DIALOGUE within and between communities and stakeholders.
- We believe that the lack of perspective triggers polarization, extremism and conflict; Therefore, we create PERSPECTIVE through capacity-building and leadership training for young
people.

Our CORE VALUES
Positivity, impartiality, co-creation and “walk the talk”

Main Projects / Activities

In 2020, MasterPeace implemented 410 projects through its local MasterPeace Clubs with direct impact on local communities. These projects were focused on three core activities, all helping to create a sustainable future with less conflict: 1) Mobilize, inspire and connect young local talents via music, art and play; 2) Organize dialogue and bring all local stakeholders together; 3) Create perspective through leadership trainings, capacity-building programs and starting up social enterprises.

We also run several joint European and Euro-Mediterranean projects with our partners.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Our strategy is to connect networks with networks and
to leverage local knowledge by co-creating
with our Clubs and regional resource mobilization teams.

We use the power of arts to inspire, mobilise, grow self-esteem, help in reconciliation and healing with oneself and “the other”. We have a strong product portfolio of storytelling, visualization and street art, rap and spoken word related to the first type of activity - using music, art and play - has grown. We have a big network of schools and partners in the Netherlands, next to our global partners.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

At MasterPeace we believe in the power of co-creation and the power of networks. Together we can achieve more social impact.

“Creating peace. Together.” means “Creating concepts, funding and campaigns. Together.”
