1. Dr. Christos Patsalides is the Director and together with 2 full-time and 3 part-time administrative staff he coordinates the activities and projects of the Foundation. 2. The annual budget of the Foundation is around 30,000 euros per year 3. The funding is mainly obtained by research projects undertaken with the collaboration of the Research Support Centre of Cyprus college, seminars and conferences organized by the Foundation as well as a small annual donation given by Cyprus College and other private companies. 4. Distinguished scholars and academicians of Cyprus College participate together with the Foundation in national, European research projects as well as commercial projects and seminars
Mission and Objectives

The mission of the Foundation of Social and Political Research is to catalyze and produce pioneering social science research and to shape public policy by integrating knowledge and methods across the social science disciplines.
The main objective of the institute is to promote scientific research in all fields associated with the social, political and cultural development as well as the relationship between society and its members. In cooperation with established institutes both in Cyprus and abroad the institute follows closely with any interactive developments in the political, social and cultural issues or problems, aiming at the upgrade of knowledge in the current society of citizens.

Main Projects / Activities

The Foundation realizes exchanges of research associates with other Institutes from Cyprus and abroad, for mutual cooperation and development of useful networks, within the political and social sciences discipline. The Foundation is currently preparing many European research proposals, within the Justice and Home affairs Directorate and the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation. More specifically, the first proposal will deal with the support to NGOs in the 10 new Member States from the European Union in the areas of regular and fair elections as well as media pluralism. Also a number of research proposals are being prepared to be submitted to the EuroMed Foundation, in the areas of Health, Music, Economics and Culture.

General Information

Future Worlds Center (legally registered as Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute) is a non-profit, non-governmental, independent organization, active in implementing projects with a future orientation whose aim is to bring about positive social change and to encourage social entrepreneurship. Future Worlds Center (FWC) was founded in 1991 under the name of the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute. FWC is an incubator of social entrepreneurs who envision, design, and implement projects that promote the culture of co-existence, human rights, and peace, using methods grounded in the latest methodologies, technologies, the science of dialogic design, and democratic dialogue.

Mission and Objectives

FWC’s mission is to enable people to re-think and re-solve social challenges, both on the local and the European level. Its actions are positioned right at the edge of where social change can happen.

Main Projects / Activities

FWC’s projects are roughly clustered within three different units: New Media Lab: concentrates on the role of new media and technology in bridging the educational, economic, political and other gaps in society by facilitating learning. Future Designs Unit: envisions, designs implements peace projects in Cyprus and world-wide; and the Global Education Unit: promotes and supports active global citizenship through local, European, and global initiatives.  The work focuses on equipping youth and educators with knowledge, skills, tools and competencies to raise awareness about global issues. Through intercultural dialogue, discussion groups with youth and youth leaders from all communities in Cyprus and workshops with pupils on how to take action for change, the Unit supports the public in their active citizenship skills and in planning and implementing their own actions. Moreover, FWC has extensive experience in coordinating, conducting, and supervising projects, trainings, conferences, and workshops beyond national boundaries with the use of modern technology for education. Its competencies are development of new educational models based on cognitive science and computing, world-wide operations focused on international development, and enhancement of inter-ethnic and international peace.

The Institue is a political think-tank, member of the Wilfred Martens Centre for European Studies (CES) in Brussels and works closely with the Konrad Adenaur Stiftung  (KAS) office in Athens. The Institute has a 15-member BOD, an Executive Director and ad hoc part-time staff. It has access ro partial funding of projects through CES on a project by project basis as well as ad hoc grants from local donours e.g. banks Training programmes focusing on youth and women, panel discussions and workshops on issues of current interest, research projects focusing on Cyprus contributing to publications of CES e.g. migraton. General Information
The HFC “Hope For Children”- Office of Children’s Rights was officially registered at the end of December 2008. HFC consists of seven active members and senior advisory Board members, Incorporating academics and diplomats. is presided by a Director-General and a Director for Public Information. We also have a roster that includes a number of school and university students who are willing to be volunteers at time of necessity. Important activaties organized in Cyprus by our organization include: • The organization of a conference to commemorate the Universal Children’s Day in 2008 (Children as future pillars of the world) in University of Nicosia with the co-operation of the Department of Law. • On the same occasion, A play time was organized at Pappaphilipou (please see the poster for the details). • The setting up of a Children’s rights public information booth at the Cyprus international fair for one and half months. • The organization of a fundraising event for Children in Gaza called University Clubbing on Ice. Ongoing Project Co-operation: To promote UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), we are currently in the process of organizing a series of panel discussion and roundtables in universities throughout the island with the co-operation of Future World Center (http://fwcis.blogspot.com/). Forthcoming projects: • We have applied for an EEA grant in order to Implement non-formal education on children’s rights in the Republic of Cyprus. HfC benefits from a pool of trainers who has been trained by the Council of Europe to use Campasito manual. For information on the manual, please visit http://www.eycb.coe.int/compasito/default.htm Partners on this project includethe Commissioner for Children’s rights of the Republic of Cyprus, is the NGO Support Center and Olive Branch foundation. • We are discussing with Child Help Line about possibility of setting up the first Child helpline in Cyprus. Cooperation with international organizations, such as Child Helpline International, the Council of Europe and other NGOs in Cyprus and “ Smile of the Child” in Greece are also discussed. • We are in the process of initiating the project “The Separated Children in Europe Programme”. Save Children Delegation from Brussels along with UNHCR Experts are expected to visit HFC in mid- May in Cyprus to discuss future co-operation.(http://www.separated-children-europe-programme.org/index.html) • Another important project we are in the going apply is that Vocational Education and Training for Vulnerable and Marginalized Groups in India." EuropeAid with two other partners, one in India and Future Worlds Center will be main applicant (www.cnti.org.cy) We endeavor to create links and potential for co-operation with other ministries of the Republic of Cyprus. Mission and Objectives

The HFC "Hope for Children"Office for Children’s Rights is an independent, non-profit and non-governmental organization based in Nicosia, Cyprus. Our organization works on humanitarian and development policy relevant to the defense and promotion children’s rights. It does so through research, grassroots program design and implementation and advisory services offered to governments and international organizations.
The vision of the HFC-OCR is to raise awareness within the Cypriot community on disadvantaged children’s suffering. It seeks to promote humanitarian values and charity among Cypriots, and to promote integration and inclusion of migrant children (asylum seekers, refugees and migrants ) into the Cypriot society. The needs of enclaved children in the occupied territories of Cyprus are given particular attention.
Mission Statement
The HFC-OCR aims to advocate and to protect children’s rights based on the standards and principles of the UN Convention for the Rights of the Child and EU Directives. The protection of children’s rights holds a special place in international conventions. HFC’s doors are open to all children regardless of religious and cultural background HFC-OCR also aims to improve the quality of life of socially disadvantaged children, such as asylum seekers, refugees and enclaved children in Cyprus as well as those in war-torn areas. Through education and social mobilization, HFC-OCR will work on raising awareness and promoting respect towards all cultures, religions and diversity in the Cypriot society.

Main Projects / Activities

• Establish networks with NGOs in Cyprus and worldwide in order to exchange knowledge and expertise.
• Create a youth forum offering opportunities to children to express and share their views with others.
• Facilitate opportunities for trans-national support and exchange on policies.
• Conduct surveys relevant to disadvantaged children’s needs.
• Organize exhibitions, symposiums, conferences and seminars to raise awareness and disseminate information.
• Organize events, such as summer camps/academy, as a means of enhancing integration between migrant (asylum seekers and refugee children) and Cypriot children.
• Provide reports to relevant government departments.
• Conduct research on issues such as the integration of the foreign/migrant children in Cypriots schools.
• Provide research/internship opportunities for graduate and PhD students with an interest in this field.
• Establish links with parliamentary communities, advisory groups, think-tanks and other relevant organizations.
• Attend training seminars for knowledge development.
• Represent the views of the organization to international institutions through both formal and informal structures as well as through written material.
• Obtain funds through donations, subscriptions, legacies, grants and any other lawful methods.
• Organize humanitarian missions at local and international level.
• Recruit volunteers.

General Information
A not for profit cultural organisation dedicated to the pomotion of all forms of culture and art, in particular literature and the use of language. It actively encourages the artists, writers and poets to read in the original language. It is a platform for substantial cultural exchange. It is run by Nora hadjisotiriou and Lily Michaelides and employs / engages other specialists on a project to project basis. Main funding comes from the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture, other local and international cultural organisations and private organisations and individuals. These funds are used exclusively for the implementation of each project.  Associates are local authorities and local and international literary organisations and institutions.
Mission and Objectives

The promotion and preservation of all languages and dialects, and all participants are encouraged to read in the original language.
To combine by creating dialogues between the various art forms, highlighting the sound of each language culture and history, and bringing to the audience the richness of each country, showing both the similarities and differences that make us a part of this world.
All participants share with each other and the audience the contemporary literary trends of their respective countries in order to reach higher levels of understand and acceptance of diversity through a constructive literary dialogue.

An international literary festival, 3 days long, that took place at the  Faneromeni Gymnasium and Platres, included satellite events. Twenty three writers from Cyprus and abroad participated.

Participated with a poet in the ‘What is Poetry’ section of the festival.

Prepared and submitted the proposal to UNESCO, suggesting Nicosia for the honorary title.

IN EX(ILE) LAB - Open Call for artists in exile

Visual Voices, member of the Anna Lindh Foundation Cyprus Network, has announced an open call to develop a performative project, inviting artists in exile* currently based in Cyprus, France, Italy or Portugal to apply.

The open call is the first action of the IN EX(ILE) LAB, a biennial laboratory dedicated to supporting artists in exile, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, led by L'atelier des artistes en exil, developed and implemented with Alkantara, Visual Voices and Santarcangelo Festival.

IN EX(ILE) LAB is currently looking for artists in exile who want to develop an artistic practice that relates to performance and would like to participate in meetings, a mentorship programme, workshops and seminars in 2023 and 2024.

*artists living in a foreign country who cannot return to their home country due to war, racial, ethnic, sexual and gender discrimination, or religious, economic and political marginalisation. Note that being in exile is not necessarily being an asylum seeker or a refugee, it is not a legal statute.
